Workshop reports available

During the last months the EFTP made relevant progress identifying key Research and Innovation challenges and priorities for the accomplishment of the Platform’s objective.

These efforts consisted in the organisation of three thematic workshops opened to the participation of members of the platform and to experts from industry and well known research institutions and other organisations that contributed to a fruitful debate:

> Future fishing Vessel Technologies (Sicily, on the 6th and 7th June, 2012).
> How to tackle fishing discards from a research and innovation perspective. (Vigo, on the 22nd June)
> Energy efficiency in fisheries: How to influence research and innovation funding in Horizon 2020. (Madrid, on the 12th September).

The information used for discussion and conclusions where summarised in a report for each of the themes/workshops. These reports have been submitted by the EFTP Secretariat to the members of the Board to adopt them as key inputs for the EFTP Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda.

EFTP also hopes that the priority research and innovation topics contained in the documents would be considered for funding opportunities for the fishing sector in future calls, and wishes that this effort finds a positive response by the EU authorities to continue building this initiative.
